Archaeological workshop in online form hosted by the Museum in Bautzen

On 4.06.2021, in cooperation with the Lead Partner, the Saxon State Office for Archaeology, Museum in Bautzen organized an online workshop with a series of interesting lectures and presentations. Experts from various fields as well as scientists from Saxony and Lower Silesia presented, among other things, the topic of the settlement in early medieval Upper Lusatia, the everyday life of the then inhabitants and their interaction with their surroundings. Perhaps for the first time it will be possible to look into the digitally reconstructed eyes of the people who lived in this area a thousand years ago? In addition, 4 lectures were given by specialists on the German side, among others, Dr. Joanna Wojnicz, project leader, and Dr. Hariette Bönisch, curator of the exhibition in Bautzen, provided lectures. Dr. Paweł Konczewski and Prof. Barbara Kwiatkowska, representatives of the Polish partner in the project, the University of Life Sciences in Wrocław, gave lectures in Polish. Moreover, the entire event was simultaneously interpreted into Polish and German. The event was attended by over 80 participants, including all project partners.
