Green Industrial Areas: Decarbonisation of business activities

Amid climate change, the success of the battle to reduce further global warming is bound to the decarbonisation of business activities. Industrial areas, where companies of different branches work door to door, offer good opportunities to achieve first steps as businesses can support each other and seize potentials of industrial symbiosis (e.g. use of residual heat for cooling processes of another company or for distance heating of a residential area). In the “Green Industrial Areas” project under leadership of the Ministry of Economy, Infrastructure, Tourism and Labour of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern 10 further partners join forces to elaborate, test and mainstream a regime to support and certify industrial areas’ efforts to achieve climate neutrality. After core-consult supported the project development and submission of the application in the 1st call of the Interreg Baltic Sea Region 2021-2027 programme, we support the project’s implementation during its lifetime of three years.

Lifetime: October 2021 – March 2022 (Project development), January 2023 – December 2025 (Projekt implementation)
