Archaeological workshop and guided tour of Żary

On 11 September 2026, an archaeological event took place in Żary as part of the German-Polish
Interreg project “Fragile Heritage” The event focused on how the archaeological heritage of Lusatia
can be protected in the long term in the face of increasing climate-related changes. Current findings
from archaeological research were presented, along with approaches to assessing and protecting
endangered archaeological sites. The event also provided an opportunity for professional exchange
and discussion of possible measures to safeguard the region’s archaeological heritage.
