SKILLS+: Policy learning to better promote ICT in rural areas' SME

In Germany and many other European region broadband connectivity is still work in progress. Especially rural areas have either received fast internet connections only recently or still have to wait a few more years. But since information and communication technologies (ICT) are gaining significancy for both our private and professional lifes, most small companies in rural areas have a significant backlog in the introduction of ICT for their business routines and for the development of new products and services. The Ministry for Regional Development and Transport Saxony-Anhalt therefore exchanges good practices with other European countries and regions to enhance its own capacities and understanding of SME needs in order to improve its own policies and financial instruments. core-consult has been contracted by the Ministry for Regional Development and Transport Saxony-Anhalt to support the coordination of the SKILLS+ project. Before, core-consult had already been in charge of the elaboration of the successful project application.
